Lazio Beats Roma 1-0 in Coppa Italia Semifinals
Lazio are through to the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia after beating rivals Roma 1-0 in an entertaining match at the Stadio Olimpico.
The match was decided in the second half by a goal from Gianluca Mancini, who was later sent off for a second yellow card.
Lazio started the match brightly and came close to scoring in the opening minutes when Ciro Immobile hit the post. Roma grew into the game and had their chances, but they were unable to find a way past Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha.
The second half started with Roma on the front foot, but it was Lazio who took the lead against the run of play. Mancini headed home a corner from Luis Alberto in the 58th minute to give Lazio the advantage.
Roma pushed for an equalizer, but they were unable to break down the Lazio defence. Mancini was sent off in the 85th minute for a second yellow card, but Lazio held on to secure the victory.
The win means that Lazio have reached the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia for the first time since 2019. They will face either Juventus or Inter Milan in the next round.
