Spencer Rattler NFL Draft News and Analysis

2024 NFL Mock Draft: Rattler Projected at No. 81

In the latest 2024 NFL Mock Draft by Sporting News, Spencer Rattler is projected to be selected with the 81st overall pick. This places him as the eighth quarterback taken off the board, following C.J. Stroud, Bryce Young, Arch Manning, Cade Klubnik, DJ Uiagalelei, and Drew Allar.

PFF Draft Profile

Pro Football Focus (PFF) has included Rattler in its 2024 NFL Draft Guide, which features detailed draft profiles on hundreds of prospects. Rattler's three-page profile includes insights into his strengths, weaknesses, and potential NFL fit.

Biographical Information

Spencer Rattler is a 6'1", 215-pound quarterback from Phoenix, Arizona. He played high school football at Pinnacle High School, where he was a consensus five-star recruit. Rattler committed to the University of Oklahoma in 2019 and was named the starting quarterback for the Sooners as a true freshman.

After a promising freshman season, Rattler struggled in 2021 and was benched in favor of Caleb Williams. He transferred to the University of South Carolina in 2022, where he started 12 games and threw for 3,032 yards and 18 touchdowns.

NFL Draft Projection

Many analysts believe that Rattler has the potential to be a successful NFL quarterback, despite his struggles in college. His arm strength, mobility, and intangibles are all highly regarded. However, he will need to improve his decision-making and accuracy in order to reach his full potential.

Rattler is currently projected to be a Day 2 selection in the 2024 NFL Draft. If he can continue to develop and improve, he could potentially be a steal for a team looking for a young quarterback with a high upside.
