City Reaches Champions League Quarter Finals

Haaland Scores Five, City Crushes Leipzig

City Reaches Champions League Quarter-Finals

Incredible Performance from Norwegian Striker

Manchester City's Erling Haaland has rewritten the record books by scoring an incredible five times as his team swept RB Leipzig aside to reach the Champions League quarter-finals. Haaland's stunning performance saw him break a number of records and secure City's place in the last eight of the competition.

The Norwegian striker was in electric form throughout the match, scoring two goals in the first half and three more in the second. His goals helped City to a comfortable 7-0 victory on the night and an 8-1 aggregate win over Leipzig.

Haaland's five-goal haul was the first time a player has scored five goals in a single Champions League knockout match since Robert Lewandowski did so for Bayern Munich in 2015. It is also the most goals scored by a player in a Champions League knockout match since Cristiano Ronaldo scored five for Real Madrid in 2018.

Haaland's performance was all the more impressive given that he had only scored once in his previous five Champions League appearances. However, he found his scoring touch against Leipzig and helped City to secure a comfortable victory.

City will now face Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. The first leg of the tie will take place on April 11 at the Etihad Stadium, with the second leg on April 18 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
