The Sacramento Kings have parted ways with center Nerlens Noel, the team announced Tuesday.
Noel, 30, has been a journeyman throughout his NBA career, playing for seven different teams in nine seasons. He has averaged 7.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game during his career.
"We want to thank Nerlens for his contributions to the Kings," said Kings general manager Monte McNair. "He is a great teammate and a hard worker, and we wish him all the best in the future."
Noel is reportedly hoping to catch on with another NBA team and prove that he can still be a valuable contributor. He has expressed a desire to become one of the top players in the league.
"I'm not done yet," Noel said. "I still have a lot to prove in this league. I want to be one of the best players in the NBA, and I'm going to keep working hard until I get there."
It remains to be seen whether Noel will be able to achieve his goal. However, he is a talented player with a lot of experience, and he could still be a valuable addition to a team looking for a defensive-minded center.
